International Schools in Thailand

It's not easy moving from one country to another. It is even harder when you have kids who are schooling. You will have to go through the rigors of finding or selecting a suitable international school for your kid(s). Also, your kid(s) will need some time to adjust to having new kids with an unfamiliar culture around them, not forgetting making friends with these kids.

By international school, we mean a school where your child can continue their learning process when you move to Thailand without any disruption of their familiar curriculum.

Many international schools in Thailand are not really international schools because they do not use an international curriculum. They are mostly English-programmed (EP) schools.

Getting your child enrolled at good international schools in Thailand, there are a few factors you will have to put into consideration.

Curriculum

Just like we said earlier, some international schools aren't really international schools but English-programmed schools. What you want is a school that makes use of a real international curriculum like that of your home country. This way, your child won't have to adjust to a new curriculum.

There are international schools in Thailand that have either American, British, International Baccalaureate (IB) and French or German curricula. Whatever suits your ward is what you should go for.

Accrediting Organizations

The question you need to ask yourself is "which body accredits this school?" When your chosen international school in Thailand is being accredited by organizations like CIS (Council of International Schools), NEASC (New England Association of Schools and Colleges), WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) and some other renowned international education bodies, then be sure that the school has developed quality educational standards.

Pricing

Education isn’t cheap. People pay heavily for good education for their kids, however, the most expensive education isn’t the best education. Do not be deceived. Ensure you enroll your kid in a financial institution whose fees you can easily afford.

The location of the school and quality of teachers, extra-curricular activities and the school’s facilities are other factors to consider when selecting a good international school in Thailand.

If you want your child to soar in life, sound education - not pricey education is the surest way.
